Biography

Dr. Anna-Bettina Haidich was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1974. She graduated from the Department of Statistics, Athens University of Economics in 1996 and received her MSc degree in Medical Statistics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK in 1997. During 1998-1999, she has worked as a biostatistician at the Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research of the Harvard School of Public Health. She received her Ph.D. from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina in 2003 under the supervision of Professor John P.A. Ioannidis. In 2011, she was appointed lecturer and in 2013 assistant professor (non-tenure) in Hygiene-Medical Statistics in the Department of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since 2019, she was appointed Associate Professor in Medical-Statsitics-Epidemiology in the same department. She teaches Medical Statistics and Epidemiology to undergraduate and graduate students at the Department of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and in relevant seminars / workshops.

Dr. Haidich has written a book in medical statistics, two chapters and published 151 papers in international journals with more than 3000 references. She was an invited speaker in more than 40 Greek and international congresses and seminars. She has been a reviewer in 10 international medical journals and member of the Editorial Board of two international journals and the Cochrane Statistical Methods Group. Her research interests include epidemiology, medical statistics, with emphasis in the methodology of reporting safety in clinical trials, meta-analyses and meta-research.
