Biography
Dr. Thomas Karagiannis earned his basic medical degree (MD) in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed his training in Internal Medicine at Ippokratio General Hospital, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
In 2010, Dr. Karagiannis obtained an MSc degree in Medical Research Methodology with high grades from Aristotle University Thessaloniki, and in 2016 he obtained an MSc degree in International Health Technology Assessment, Pricing and Reimbursement at the University of Sheffield, UK. In 2018, he concluded his doctoral thesis in the field of diabetes at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher and Academic Affiliate at the Clinical Research and Evidence-Based Medicine Unit at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Dr. Karagiannis has co-authored several articles published in high impact factor journals and has teaching experience in undergraduate (Evidence-Based Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics) and postgraduate (Clinical Research Methodology, Systematic Reviews, Qualitative Research) courses. His main research interests include knowledge synthesis and meta-research, qualitative and mixed-methods research, and evidence-based clinical decision making in diabetes.
