Biography
Eleni Verykouki
Eleni Verykouki has graduated from the department of Mathematics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2005 and received her MSc in Statistics and Operations Research from the same department in 2008. She was awarded her PhD on Bayesian stochastic epidemic modelling from the School of Mathematical Sciences, University of Nottingham, UK, in 2013. She has worked as a postdoctoral scientific collaborator in the Biostatistics group of Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (SwissTPH), Basel, Switzerland. She is an external research associate with the Laboratory of Hygiene, Social-Preventive Medicine and Medical Statistics, Department of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and is involved in various projects and teaching since 2013. Eleni currently works as a postdoctoral statistician for the FF-IPM project at the Department of Agriculture Crop Production and Rural Environment, University of Thessaly. She is involved in tasks regarding the statistical analysis and modelling. Her research interests include statistical modelling, epidemic modelling and spatial statistics mainly for the transmission of infectious diseases.
