Biography

Dr. Andigoni Malousi was born in Thessaloniki in 1975. In 1998 she graduated from the Informatics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and she completed her MSc studies in Medical Informatics at the Medical School of AUTH. In 2008, she received her PhD in Bioinformatics from the Medical School of AUTH. She pursued her Post-doc at the Institute of Applied Biosciences of the Center for Research & Technology Hellas (INAB/CERTH) and from 2013 to 2015 she worked in Paris as Research Engineer at the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Unit of the Translational Neurosciences Institute in the Pitié-Salpêtrière University Hospital. She has worked as research assistant in EU research projects and served as remote evaluator and central panel reviewer of HORIZON 2020 research proposals.

From 2016 she works as Bioinformatics teaching staff at the Lab. of Biological Chemistry of the Medical School, and she is responsible for two undergraduate elective courses in Bioinformatics at the Medical School and Pharmacy School of AUTH. She is also coordinator of the “Bioinformatics” course and the “Programming tools and applications in -omics technologies” at the MSc program in Precision Medicine.

Dr. Malousi is co-author of >30 peer-reviewed journal papers and >40 articles published in book series and conference proceedings. She has been a reviewer in 17 international journals and member of the student Editorial Board of the Methods of Information in Medicine. Her research interests are in the fields of computational genomics, high-throughput -omics data analysis and predictive modelling.
